The former residence of Count Johan Maurits van Nassau-Siegen, governor (1636-1644) of Dutch Brazil, now includes a large art collection, including works by famous Dutch painters such as Jan Vermeer van Delft, Rembrandt van Rijn, Jan Steen, Paulus Potter and Frans Hals, and works by German painter Hans Holbein the Younger.
